You do not need a referral from a doctor to book a private physiotherapy appointment. However, if you are planning to claim the cost through your health insurance, your provider may require a referral. We recommend checking with your insurance company beforehand.

  • What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first visit is an initial assessment. Your physiotherapist will start by taking a detailed history of your condition and lifestyle. We will then perform a physical examination. Based on our findings, we will provide a diagnosis, explain your condition, and create goals goals-oriented treatment plan to get you back to your best.

  • What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for movement. Depending on the area being treated, your physiotherapist may need to assess your skin to perform hands-on treatment. For example, if you have a knee issue, it's helpful to wear shorts. For a shoulder or neck problem, a vest top is often suitable.

  • Will my appointment be painful?

Physiotherapy should not be highly painful, but you may experience some mild discomfort or soreness, especially if we are working on a stiff joint or an injured muscle.
